Aston Villa has revealed plans to boost the capacity of their stadium to more than 50,000 seats within the next two years.
The club aims to add seats to the North Stand at Villa Park in preparation for Euro 2028, where the venue will serve as a host site.
Villa stated that the stadium redevelopment, which currently accommodates 42,640 spectators, will occur without any seat reductions during the ongoing season.
The club’s executive chairman, Nassef Sawiris, commented: “This initiative represents a key milestone in our journey to establish a world-class sports and entertainment destination.
“An enhanced North Stand will enable more fans to attend matches, elevate the overall matchday experience, and significantly strengthen the club’s long-term investment and competitive capabilities.”
Under Unai Emery’s leadership, Aston Villa currently sits seventh in the Premier League with four matches remaining. They were narrowly eliminated from the Champions League semi-finals after a 5-4 aggregate loss to Paris Saint-Germain.
