A former Manchester United defender had a tough time in a pivotal LaLiga match.
Villarreal traveled to Celta Vigo at Balaidos as they aim for Champions League qualification.
However, the Yellow Submarine suffered a 3-0 defeat to Celta, who are also competing for European spots, after losing a key defender to a straight red card.
That defender was Eric Bailly, sent off for a reckless challenge after just 37 minutes.
Bailly, 31, fouled Celta's Alfonso Gonzalez with a late tackle outside the area, and the referee determined Gonzalez was in a scoring position.
The centre-back, signed by United from Villarreal in 2016 and with the club for seven years, was immediately dismissed, leading to his team's collapse.
This prompted strong reactions from fans on social media.
One fan tweeted: "Is anyone surprised?"
Another commented: "That was rough!"
A third wrote: "Eric Bailly red card. I miss him man."
This was Bailly's fourth red card in his 21-year career, with two occurring during his United stint in the Premier League and Europa League.
The Ivory Coast international recorded one goal and one assist in 113 appearances for the Red Devils, despite numerous injuries.
