French champions Paris Saint-Germain will look to continue their pursuit of immortality as they host Nice at the Parc des Princes on Friday. In midweek, Luis Enrique's side edged closer to an unprecedented unbeaten Ligue 1 campaign, with the ambition of achieving a treble also high on their agenda.

With the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Arsenal and the Coupe de France final against Reims on the horizon, and just four league games remaining, Paris Saint-Germain's sole objective is to maintain their unbeaten record. On Tuesday night, they played out a 1-1 draw against Nantes in a rescheduled fixture, bringing them closer to this remarkable feat while also extending their away unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to 39 games, the longest such streak in the top five European leagues.

Nantes held the record for the longest unbeaten start to the season with 32 games without defeat. Despite their best efforts and managing to draw twice against the reigning champions, they couldn't halt Paris Saint-Germain's charge on Tuesday. Paris Saint-Germain have now gone 30 games without defeat this season. This result did end Paris Saint-Germain's 10-game winning streak in Ligue 1, but it means they can still win their remaining four games of the season and surpass the 90-point mark. Considering the French top-flight season has been shortened to 34 games, this would be a remarkable achievement.

After facing Nantes (the first team to beat Paris Saint-Germain this season), Enrique's side may now face Nice again, as Nice also drew 1-1 with Nantes in October. A own goal from Moïse Bombito denied Nice victory in that game, but it was no fluke, as the visitors have an excellent record in this fixture.

Despite losing in the Coupe de France last season, Nice have won four of their last nine visits to the Parc des Princes, including their last league visit in September 2023, a 3-2 victory. However, Frank Haise's side are slumping at the wrong time. Before narrowly beating Angers last weekend, they had gone five games without a win.

In this intense battle for Champions League qualification, the gap between second and seventh place is just four points. Any dropped points are significant. Thus, with most of the chasers picking up points this weekend, Nice's victory over a team fighting for survival was crucial.

Haise's team started the weekend in fifth place, but they could slip further behind against the runaway champions unless they produce an outstanding performance. After this trip to the capital, Nice will face Reims, Rennes, and Brest. These three teams are playing only for pride, so they will hope that the two-point gap between them and the top four doesn't become insurmountable before the upcoming weekend.

Possible Starting Lineup of Paris Saint-Germain:

Safonov; Hakimi, Lucas Beraldo, Hernandez, Mbaye; Zaire-Emery, Maïouro, Li; Doué, Gonçalo Ramos, Barcola

Possible Starting Lineup of Nice:

Boubacar; Abdelmonem, Ndayishimiye, Troubadour; Klauss, Boudawi, Rosario, Abdi; Gassama, Laborde, Boga
