Arteta: We Fell Short of Our Standards

Mikel Arteta speaking to Sky Sports:
“I am disappointed with the result and the performance. We lacked the necessary consistency in our actions to fully dominate the game. We gave the ball away too often and our defensive habits dropped below standard. Even when leading 2-1, we cannot afford to concede a goal like that, but we did, and it cost us two points—that's just part of football.
There were several aspects where we could have improved. The game remained open, allowing the opposition chances to hurt us, and they had the quality to take advantage.
They were highly organized and deserve credit, but we must be self-critical.
It's damaging, yet we have to accept that such setbacks can occur.”
