Match preview
Sheffield Wednesday have booked their return to the second tier of English football for the first time since being relegated in 2020-21. They won the League One playoffs in 2022-23, finishing third in the league before winning the playoffs in a stunning turn of events.
The Owls lost the first leg of the semi-final 4-0 to Peterborough United, which didn't leave them with much hope going into the second leg at home. But they managed to win 5-1, which sent the tie to penalties. Sheffield Wednesday won 5-3 in the shootout.
They followed that up with another nail-biting match. The Owls were still level with Barnsley at 0-0 at Wembley until stoppage time of extra time, when Josh Windass scored in the 123rd minute to secure promotion to the Championship.
Sheffield Wednesday had a tough first year back in the second division, but they were probably happy to extend their stay in the Championship for another year. They finished in 20th place, three points above the drop zone.
Danny Rohl and his team would have been aiming to climb further away from the relegation zone ahead of this campaign, but a mixed start to the season means they're just three points ahead of 22nd-placed Plymouth Argyle.
Rohl's team were thrashed 6-2 in their last game against Watford, so the Sheffield Wednesday fans will be hoping for a much better performance on Tuesday.
Norwich are a tough team to play against, especially with them sitting in 10th place in the table, just three points behind sixth-placed West Bromwich Albion.
However, Norwich have had a tough run recently, with no wins in their last four matches. They drew with Stoke City, Preston North End and Middlesbrough and lost 2-1 to Cardiff City in their last game.
Johannes Thorup, who took over at Norwich in July 2024, will be hoping to put an end to that run on Tuesday, especially given his team have been undefeated in the last six meetings, including four wins in that spell.

Team News
After the disappointing 6-2 loss to Watford in their last game, Rohl might decide to go back to his preferred 3-4-3 system with Pol Valentin on the right.
Ben Hamer, Michael Ihiekwe, Nathaniel Chalobah and Olaf Kobacki are all out for Sheffield Wednesday due to ongoing injury issues, while Akin Famewo is also a doubt.
The visitors will be without Angus Gunn, Anis Ben Slimane, Ashley Barnes, Liam Gibbs, Marcelino Nunez and Onel Hernandez due to injury concerns, while Kenny McLean is suspended.
Joshua Sargent is also out due to a muscle injury, so Ante Crnac could continue to lead the line as a makeshift striker.
Possible starting lineups
Sheffield Wednesday possible starting lineup:
Beadle; Valery, Bernard, Iorfa; Valentin, Charles, Bannan, Johnson; Musaba, Smith, Windass
Norwich City possible starting lineup:
Long; Fisher, Duffy, Cordoba, Doyle; Sorensen, Forsyth; Schwartau, Marcondes, Sainz; Crnac
