Lesotho got their first point in the qualifying campaign against Tuesday's opponents after a great defensive performance in Friday's match. They limited Gabon to no real chances despite them having 72% possession.

The hosts lost 3-1 against Central African Republic on 5 September and lost 1-0 against Morocco on 9 September. In their three matches so far, they've only produced two big chances.

Leslie Notsi, who has been in charge of 10 games since June 2023, has a tough job ahead of him if he wants to qualify Likuena for their first AFCON tournament in history.

Notsi's side are in poor form, having lost five and drawn two of their last seven matches, scoring four times and conceding 11 times.

Lesotho have drawn three and lost six of their last nine home games, but they did win three of the four previous home fixtures.

The visitors got off to a rough start in their qualifying campaign, losing 4-1 to Morocco on September 6. They conceded two penalties by the 26th minute.

Gabon then beat Central African Republic 2-0 on 10 September, taking a total of 10 shots from inside the penalty area, six more than their opponents.

Thierry Mouyouma was brought in as manager towards the end of 2023, replacing Patrice Neveu, who hadn't managed to qualify the team for the 2023 AFCON tournament.

Mouyouma has been in charge for nine matches, winning four, drawing two and losing three. He's led his side to two wins in their last four games, with talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring three of his team's six goals in that period.

Gabon have been struggling on the road recently, losing their last three away games and being defeated in five of their last seven.
