Lee Carsley has praised Newcastle for the development of Lewis Hall after the defender made his senior England debut against Greece.
England started the game with Rico Lewis at left-back but switched things up at half-time as Hall came on for Ezri Konsa and assumed the role on the left.
"People were speaking last night about the inexperience within the squad but these players play week in, week out in the Premier League at a really high level," Carsley said after the game.
"It's testament to Lewis [Hall] and Newcastle that he was able to come on in an atmosphere like that and perform the way he did."
