Westham United injury news:
Out:Antonio、Füllkrug、Summerville
Doubts: Coufal 75%、Lucas Paquetá 75%
Banned:
Latest News: Vladimir Coufal (hamstring) and Lucas Paqueta (ankle) have returned to training this week and should feature in some capacity against Newcastle United, with Graham Potter saying that Paqueta's looming hearing into an alleged breach of betting rules wouldn't factor into his thinking. Niclas Füllkrug (hamstring) has also been on the grass but this match comes too soon for him, while Crysencio Summerville (hamstring) and Michail Antonio (leg) remain out for Monday's game. Potter has kept the same 3-5-2 set-up and same 11 players in the last two matches, both of which resulted in wins, but Paqueta's availability may tempt him into a change. One of James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez or Tomas Soucek would likely have to drop out for that to happen (and be unlucky to do so), unless Potter drops a surplus centre-half like Aaron Cresswell and shifts back to a 4-2-3-1 - not that that system worked well against Brentford a few weeks ago.
Evan Ferguson may have to bide his time on the bench, too, along with Carlos Soler and Emerson Palmieri.
Newcastle United injury news:
Out:Botman、Lewis Hall、Lascelles
Doubts:
Banned:Gordon
Latest News: Lewis Hall is out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his foot, while Sven Botman will miss the next eight weeks after a knee operation and Jamaal Lascelles (knee) remains unavailable. Anthony Gordon also begins a three-match ban following his dismissal for violent conduct in Sunday’s cup defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion. Kieran Trippier (back) and Alexander Isak (fatigue/tightness) hobbled out of that defeat to the Seagulls but the news was seemingly positive from Eddie Howe, who first said Newcastle only had "three injured players" (Hall, Lascelles and Botman) before going one step further and confirming that Isak was "fine" and had "trained every day".
True to form, Howe left some doubt in other comments ("fingers crossed Alex will be fine") just to keep us guessing. While the narrative outside of the club is that focus will be on the EFL Cup final next weekend, Howe was emphatic in saying that his attention was solely on the trip to West Ham. The Newcastle boss even said that "resting players doesn't even come into my head", adding that "a player not playing for two weeks before a huge game is [not] good for them". If Howe is true to his word, then, expect a strong-looking XI. Harvey Barnes will hope to fill in for Gordon, with Trippier (if fit) and Matt Targett options to deputise for Hall. Howe could alternatively use Joelinton or Joe Willock on the left wing, with Lewis Miley or Willock brought into midfield. Callum Wilson, who has an excellent scoring record against West Ham, will be on standby to fill in for Isak, while Martin Dubravka may well have reclaimed the goalkeeping shirt back off Nick Pope.
