It looks like Austria will have a good chance to get the first win in Group 3 of the UEFA Nations League B on Thursday evening.

They're playing Kazakhstan at the Raiffeisen Arena in Linz. The Austrians played out a 1-1 draw with Slovenia in an away match on the opening day, before losing 1-2 to Norway thanks to a late goal from Erling Haaland.

This is also Austria's first home match of the campaign. Austria were at the 2024 Euros, reaching the last 16 where they were beaten 1-2 by Turkey.

Kazakhstan have been struggling a lot more than Austria. They've lost five and drawn one of their last six matches in all competitions.

The only draw came at the start of the UEFA Nations League campaign. A month ago, the Kazakhs held their own against Erling Haaland and company in a goalless draw on home soil.

It's also worth mentioning that Kazakhstan haven't scored in this Nations League term. They didn't do much to trouble Slovenia in the previous round, losing 0-3.

It's pretty clear what the situation is here. Austria can't afford to drop points at home against teams like Kazakhstan, especially after only getting one point from the first two games.

In the last round, the Austrians let in only six shots in a 1-2 loss to Norway. Kazakhstan didn't do much on the offensive in their first two games of the campaign.
