Lazio vs Parma
Match preview
When Lazio thrashed Bologna 3-0 at the end of November, Baroni's men had just beaten their fifth successive opponent at the Olimpico, having won six of their first seven home games and only dropped points in a 2-2 draw with AC Milan at the end of August.
That success against the Rossoblu was followed by a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of reigning champions Inter Milan, a heavy defeat that began a run of just one win in nine home games.
While Baroni might have thought a 5-1 thrashing of Monza on 9 February, which ended a four-match winless run (two defeats), was the turning point on home soil, that victory was followed by four draws against Napoli (2-2), Udinese (1-1), Torino (1-1) and the derby against Roma (1-1).
Despite the dearth of victories in Rome, three wins from their last four away games keeps the Aquilotti in sixth place, guaranteeing a place in the Conference League play-off round.
That spot could go to the seventh-placed team, although that scenario depends on the Coppa Italia winners also finishing in the top six - finalists Bologna and Milan are fourth and ninth respectively.
However, Lazio will be hoping to finish higher than sixth to avoid such a disappointing result, which remains possible as they are one point behind fourth-placed Bologna and level on 59 points with Juventus.
Looking to end Lazio's four-game winless streak in Rome this weekend will be Parma, who have a historically poor record against Monday's opponents in the capital.
Cristian Chivu takes the Emiliani to Lazio knowing that the Gialloblu have lost eight consecutive visits to the Olimpico in Serie A, a run they will be keen to end on Monday.
The form heading into the round 34 clash favours the away side, whose improvement under Chivu has seen them lose just once in eight top-flight games - a 1-0 defeat at Udinese - although Parma's 1-0 win over Juventus in midweek was only their second win under the former centre-back.
While five of Chivu's eight games in charge have ended in stalemate, Parma's 11 points in Serie A are two fewer than their hosts on Monday, highlighting the improvement in Emilia-Romagna and the decline in the capital.
The result means the Emilians are now six points clear of 18th and 19th-placed Venezia and Empoli with five games in hand, and are closing in on safety.
Without an away win since beating Venezia in November, Parma's away form may not bode well ahead of another trip to Lazio, but Chivu's men have been hard to beat on the road, keeping successive clean sheets against Hellas Verona and Fiorentina (both 0-0), and will be looking to repeat the feat to avoid a ninth successive defeat against the capital club at the Olimpico.
