Comoros vs Tunisia

Match preview

Comoros are the only unbeaten nation in the four-team group, having drawn their first two qualifiers in September against Gambia and Madagascar.

In their last qualifying match, Les Coelacantes beat Tunisia thanks to a 60th-minute winner from Rafiki Said.

Les Coelacantes had just 32% of the possession in that game, but managed to limit their opponents to just one big chance.

If Comoros qualify for AFCON 2025, it will be only the second time in the last 12 editions of the competition that they have reached the final.

Stefano Cusin's side have won three, drawn two and lost two of their last seven games, although it should be noted that they have lost three, drawn two and won just one of their last six home matches.

Tunisia, meanwhile, will be disappointed with their latest defeat, having won four and drawn one of their previous five games.

The Eagles of Carthage narrowly beat Madagascar 1-0 on 5 September, thanks to a 98th-minute strike from Ferjani Sassi, and only needed Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane's 75th-minute strike to beat Gambia 2-1.

Tunisia have qualified for the last 16 AFCON tournaments and coach Faouzi Benzarti will be confident his side can qualify for the finals of the 2025 edition, although he will be hoping to improve on their group-stage exit at AFCON 2023.

The visitors have been in excellent form defensively, keeping 10 clean sheets in their last 14 matches.

Benzarti's side have won 12 of their last 16 AFCON qualifiers, including three of their last four.

Tunisia have also been difficult to beat away from home in qualifying, winning seven, drawing three and losing two of their last 12 away from home.
