Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has stated Tyrone Mings must "forget" his costly error against Club Brugge "quickly" following the 1-0 loss.
The Villa centre back, who was making just his second start after returning from an ACL injury, picked the ball up inside his own half after a mix-up with goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez during a goal-kick.
A penalty was awarded to Brugge, and eventually scored by Hans Vanaken, to secure all three points in the Champions League. Handing Villa their first defeat of the competition in the process.
"We lost one or two balls, but this mistake is very, very strange," Emery said.
"It’s not for Tyrone Mings or Emi Martinez [to explain]. It’s only happened one time in all my life. Today.
"We have to forget quickly. This mistake is not going to repeat again, I think never in my life."
