Arsenal have suffered yet another injury problem after losing Riccardo Calafiori to a knee issue in the Champions League.
Arsenal enjoyed a 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night at the Emirates but were hit with a fresh injury concern as Calafiori was forced off in the second half with what appeared to be a knee injury. The Italian received treatment on the pitch but was eventually taken off and replaced by Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The Gunners will now be sweating on Calafiori's injury ahead of a title showdown with Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday. Arsenal will be without William Saliba for that match due to suspension, after he was sent off against Bournemouth, and are also currently without Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard due to injury.
Speaking to the press post-match, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said, "Riccardo Calafiori coming off is a bit of a worry. We will see."
Arteta and Arsenal now face an anxious wait on Calafiori to see if he will be fit to play on Sunday. Arsenal head into the match against Liverpool already four points behind the Reds in the Premier League table.
