Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly waiting in the wings should Leroy Sane not sign a new Bayern Munich contract.
According to Sky Germany, United and Arsenal are monitoring the 28-year-old's situation closely as Bayern want to retain the German international but want him to take a pay cut. The report adds Sane wants to stay put at the Bundesliga side but it remains to be seen if he will accept their offer.
Sky adds that Bayern also want to retain Joshua Kimmich and Manuel Neuer but they will also have to prepare for a possible salary cut, with Bayern sporting director Max Eberl aiming to reduce the wages of the current squad in 2025. The report adds that Sane will not leave in the January transfer window but the longer the negotiations go on, the more likely the ex-Manchester City man will leave on a free transfer next summer.
Sane is reportedly on a contract worth up to €20 million (£17m/$21m), but the Bavarians want to reduce his salary by up to €4m, though he would be able to get close to his current salary with bonuses.
After the international break, where Sane's Germany take on Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary in the Nations League, the winger is likely to feature against Augsburg on November 22.
