Gareth Southgate is a shock candidate to replace Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace, despite ruling himself out of taking the Manchester United job.
Per The Guardian, Palace are considering Glasner's future after a dismal start to the season which has seen the club fail to win any of their first eight games. Palace have secured three points but have done so via draws with Chelsea, Leicester and Manchester United. As Palace look to potential replacements, Southgate is seen as a valid option.
The ex-England boss played for Palace between 1988 and 1995, captaining the club at the age of 23. He is available and the report claims he will be considered if Glasner is sacked, along with fellow potential candidates Graham Potter and David Moyes.
Southgate has previously played down the prospect of heading into club management immediately after his England resignation, insisting he is "certain" he will not take a coaching job in the next year. He had been linked with United.
Palace play Tottenham this weekend and will go in search of their first win of the season. Another defeat could well see Glasner searching for a new job.
