Last season's League One winners Portsmouth have endured a difficult start to their first Championship campaign since 2011-12, taking just three points from their opening six games.

Pompey drew their first three games against Leeds United, Luton Town and Middlesbrough before going down at home to Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion respectively.

John Mousinho's side looked set to avoid another defeat in their latest encounter with Burnley after Callum Lang gave his side a narrow half-time lead at Turf Moor.

However, the Clarets levelled through Jeremy Sarmiento before Josh Brownhill's stoppage-time winner condemned Pompey to their first away defeat at Burnley since February 1982.

Pompey now prepare to take on another team recently relegated from the Premier League, and although they have not faced Sheffield United since April 2013, they can take confidence from the fact that they have won their last three home games against the Blades.

In contrast to their hosts, Sheffield United have made a positive start to the season, winning four and drawing two of their opening six games.

Chris Wilder's side opened their campaign with a win over Preston North End before drawing with Queens Park Rangers and Norwich City.

Since then, the Blades have returned to winning ways, beating Watford, Hull City and Derby County without conceding a single goal to take their tally of clean sheets in the Championship to four this season - a feat matched only by West Brom, Leeds and Sunderland.

Last weekend, Gustavo Hamer scored the decisive goal to condemn Derby to a narrow 1-0 defeat at Bramall Lane as the Blades finished the weekend in fifth place, three points off the top two.

Sheffield United will be looking for another strong performance this weekend as they go in search of their first away win at Portsmouth since a 2-1 victory in January 2003.
