Although Blackburn finished last season on a high, their supporters would not have expected such a promising start to the current campaign.

Despite the loss of Sammie Szmodics to Ipswich Town, John Eustace's side have taken 12 points from their opening six games.

Rovers have followed a win-draw pattern since their opening game, scoring in every game until last weekend's goalless draw at Preston North End.

That was Blackburn's third successive draw on the road, with each of their three victories coming at Ewood Park.

Nine goals have been scored in victories over Derby County, Oxford United and Bristol City, while their last two games have been clean sheets.

As for QPR, they head to the North West on a five-game unbeaten run, with their only league defeat this season coming at home to leaders West Bromwich Albion.

Marti Cifuentes' side will be disappointed with four draws in five games, but they have extended a run of just one defeat in nine matches if the end of last season is taken into account.

Since a 2-1 win at Luton Town before the international break, the Hoops have drawn 1-1 with Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall.

The main downside to their form is that they are yet to keep a clean sheet in the second tier this season.

Eustace will be forced to make at least one change for Blackburn after left-back Owen Beck was sent off against Preston.

Harry Pickering comes into the side, while Eustace will also consider recalling Andreas Weimann and Makhtar Gueye.

Todd Cantwell and Amario Cozier-Duberry are in contention for their first starts since arriving at Ewood Park in the closing hours of the transfer window.

If Cifuentes does decide to tinker with his QPR XI, Paul Smyth could be selected on the flank in place of Koki Saito.

The rest of the team could remain the same, with Morgan Fox and Ilias Chair remaining on the sidelines through injury.

Blackburn Rovers possible starting lineup:

Pears; Carter, Batth, Hyam, Pickering; Tronstad, Travis; Hedges, Dolan, Cantwell; Gueye

Queens Park Rangers possible starting lineup:

Nardi; Dunne, Cook, Clarke-Salter, Paal; Madsen, Field; Dembele, Andersen, Smyth; Frey

Prediction:Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Queens Park Rangers
