Aston Villa are concerned that Marcus Rashford may miss the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury, as reported by ESPN.

He was absent for the FA Cup semifinal loss to Crystal Palace after sustaining the injury during the previous week's 2-1 defeat to Manchester City.

The 27-year-old traveled with the team to London but was ruled out before kick-off.

"He is injured," Emery said after the 3-0 defeat to Palace.

"He got injured this week and yesterday we did a test. It is his hamstring. We are going to test him for each match to see how he is progressing. Probably some weeks that he can be not available."

Medical tests indicate Rashford will be sidelined for about a month, which could jeopardize his further participation this season.

He will miss Villa's final game of the season as he cannot play against his parent club, Manchester United.

The medical teams at Villa and Manchester United are collaborating on a recovery plan.

Rashford remains optimistic about being fit for England during the June international break.

A source told ESPN that Villa are still undecided about exercising their £40 million option to make Rashford's loan move permanent.

Rashford does not see a future under Manchester United's boss Ruben Amorim and is aiming for a summer move to a Champions League club.
