Chelsea booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday as goals from Tosin Adarabioyo and João Félix and a brace from Christopher Nkunku helped them see off League Two Morecambe 5-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca made several changes to his side, with Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernández and Nicolas Jackson all named on the bench.
The Italian handed a starting berth to 18-year-old striker Tyrique George, while Reece James and Romeo Lavia made their first appearances since recovering from injury.
Chelsea were on the front foot from the start and came close to taking the lead when Adarabioyo headed Pedro Neto's cross over the bar in the 14th minute.
The home side were in the ascendancy throughout and could have won comfortably had it not been for Nkunku's 17th-minute penalty - awarded for a handball by Morecambe midfielder Yann Songo'o - which was saved by Harry Burgoyne.
But Burgoyne's save proved to be a temporary reprieve for the fourth-tier side, as former Fulham man Adarabioyo saw a shot from the edge of the area deflected into the bottom corner.
Having made one change at the break, with Marc Cucurella coming on for Lavia, Chelsea were quick out of the blocks at the start of the second half. Nkuku made up for his earlier penalty miss five minutes after the break with a left-footed shot that found the bottom right-hand corner of Burgoyne's net.
Adarabioyo scored his second of the game with a fine finish into the top right-hand corner after being found by George on the edge of the area.
Adarabioyo's second served to break Morecambe's earlier resolve and the home side added two more within the next seven minutes.
First João Félix rounded off a swift counter-attack with a neat finish into the bottom corner, before the Portugal international doubled his tally with a curling effort beyond the despairing reach of Burgoyne.
Chelsea will find out their fourth-round opponents when the draw is made at around 5 p.m. GMT (12 p.m. ET) on Sunday.
