Real Madrid vs. Getafe
Match preview
Real Madrid have had a rough few weeks, losing three out of five matches. They were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and they also suffered damaging home defeats to Barcelona and AC Milan at the end of October and start of November. It was a deserved loss for Carlo Ancelotti's side.
Kylian Mbappe missed a penalty at Anfield, and Mohamed Salah was also unsuccessful from the spot. Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo secured a two-goal victory for Liverpool. This result leaves Real Madrid down in 24th spot in the Champions League table, only just clinging onto a playoff spot.
In the league, though, Los Blancos have won their last two against Osasuna and Leganés, scoring seven times and conceding zero in the process. That form, coupled with Barcelona having a bit of a wobble, has pulled the reigning champions back into contention at the top of the division.
At the moment, Ancelotti's team are second in La Liga, four points behind Barcelona with a game in hand. They'll be looking to win three more league games against Getafe, Athletic Bilbao and Girona before a big Champions League match away to Atalanta BC on 10 December.
Real Madrid have the best home record in La Liga this season, with 18 points from their opening seven matches. Getafe have struggled away from home, with just two points from six matches.
Getafe have only managed to win six of their previous 38 matches against Real Madrid in La Liga. They haven't beaten Los Blancos at the Bernabéu since February 2008, which shows just how important this weekend's game is.
The Deep Blue Ones have only beaten Real Madrid once since August 2012, but their recent meetings have been pretty close. Los Blancos only won 2-1 in the corresponding game at Bernabeu last term, and Getafe will be slightly fresher than their opponents, having been in action on Tuesday night while their opponents played on Wednesday.
Jose Bordalas's team made it through to the second round of the Copa del Rey thanks to a 3-0 win against Manises earlier this week. They also beat Real Valladolid 2-0 in their last league match on 22 November.
Getafe have played 14 matches this season, winning two, drawing seven and losing five. That's earned them 13 points, putting them in 15th spot in the table, three points above the relegation zone.
They've had a tough time scoring goals this season, with only 10 in their 14 league games. That puts them at the bottom of the league, tied with the team with the second-worst record. On the bright side, they've only conceded 11, which is tied with the second-best defensive record.

Team News
It looks like Real Madrid will be without several key players for this weekend's game in the Spanish capital. Vinicius Junior, Eduardo Camavinga, Eder Militao, Dani Carvajal and David Alaba are all likely to miss out.
On the bright side, Aurelien Tchouameni and Rodrygo could be back in the squad after recent issues, while Jude Bellingham, Brahim Diaz and Mbappe are all fit despite concerns over their fitness after the Liverpool clash.
It looks like Lucas Vázquez will be back on the right-back, which would mean Federico Valverde moving back into midfield. There's a chance Dani Ceballos will come on as well, with Luka Modric likely to drop to the bench.
Ancelotti might also switch things up at left-back, with Fran Garcia possibly taking over from Ferland Mendy.
Getafe will be without Carles Alena due to a muscular problem, while Borja Mayoral is only likely to be fit enough for the bench. The former Real Madrid forward is currently struggling with a similar issue.
The visitors will also be missing two key players due to suspension on Sunday. Bertug Yildirim and Djene Dakonam picked up their first yellow cards in the league game with Real Valladolid last weekend.
Getafe loanee Álvaro Rodríguez is eligible to play this weekend, and the 20-year-old attacker is expected to lead the line after scoring his first goal for the team against Real Valladolid.
Possible starting lineups
Real Madrid possible starting lineup:
Courtois; Vazquez, Rudiger, Asencio, F Garcia; Ceballos, Valverde, Bellingham; Guler, Mbappe, Diaz
Getafe possible starting lineup:
Soria; Iglesias, Duarte, Alderete, Rico; Milla, Arambarri; Nyom, Uche, Perez; Rodriguez
