Mosquera was confronted by several unhappy Chelsea players after he flew into a tackle that resulted in Caicedo's early exit from the match at Molineux, which the Blues ended up winning 6-2. The 23-year-old arrived late in an attempt to win the ball and stamped down on Caicedo's ankle, leaving him in considerable pain.
The Wolves man was involved in a few similar incidents against Arsenal on the opening weekend. Firstly he appeared to grab Kai Havertz by the throat and later on grabbed striker Gabriel Jesus' bum, which did not please the Brazilian forward at all.
Mosquera spent the 2023-24 campaign away from Wolves, on loan at La Liga side Villarreal. The Colombian made 18 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and recording an assist to help Villarreal to an eighth-place finish.
Chelsea will hope that Caicedo doesn't face any lengthy spell away from the pitch after his withdrawal against Wolves. The 22-year-old might now be a doubt for the second leg of Chelsea's Europa Conference League qualifying play-off clash with Servette on Thursday.
