Cristiano Ronaldo backed to BUY Wrexham from Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney

Former Liverpool star Mark Lawrenson says he can see Cristiano Ronaldo buying Wrexham rather than playing for them.
The former Liverpool defender says it is more likely that Ronaldo could fill a role off the pitch rather than on it when it comes to Wrexham. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney would have hit the jackpot if they could convince the football icon to suit up in League One. However, Lawrenson says the SToK Racecourse's 13,000-capacity would not be enough for the forward to play in front of.
Speaking to Sports Casting, Lawrenson said: "Anything's possible in football these days, even Cristiano Ronaldo playing for Wrexham! I would say that it's highly improbable, he's more likely to purchase the club than sign for them in my eyes. Wrexham don't seat much more than 10k in their stadium, I can't see him playing to such a small audience in all honesty, that said you'd struggle to get a ticket there if he was playing. He'd fill the stadium anywhere he goes."
Even buying a stake in Wrexham seems far-fetched for Ronaldo right now, who has not even finished his playing career. The Al-Nassr striker is looking to lead his team to glory in the Saudi Pro League and his club currently sit just four points off Al-Hilal at the top.
Ronaldo will be relatively close to Wrexham when Portugal play Scotland in the Nations League on Tuesday evening. The 39-year-old has helped his side to the top of the table in League A Group 1 and a win against the Tartan Army will only strengthen their position.
