On 15 October 2024, Germany played against the Netherlands at home in the UEFA Nations League A Group C. In the last game, Germany beat Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the Netherlands drew with Hungary with one less player. This game will decide which team comes top in the group. The German team did not disappoint their fans when they played at home. They beat the Netherlands with Leweling's goal, kept their unbeaten record against the Netherlands going, and are now 10 points clear at the top of the standings.

On Monday night, Germany played the Netherlands at the Allianz Arena. On a night of tribute to veterans, Jamie Leweling's rise helped Julian Nagelsmann's Germany win the UEFA Nations League. Before the game, the Allianz Arena gave Germany legends Manuel Neuer, Toni Kroos, Ilkay Gündoğan and Thomas Müller a standing ovation.

Jamie Leweling made a great impression in his first game with the seniors, scoring the only goal of the game as Germany beat the Netherlands 1-0 in Monday's UEFA Nations League.

Stuttgart's Leweling had a goal ruled offside by VAR within two minutes, which was a shame as it would have been a great start to his international career. The winger thought he had put the hosts ahead on his debut but Serge Gnabry was ruled to be slightly offside in the build-up.

Germany controlled the opening stages of the game, with Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen repeatedly having to make a move to stop the hosts.

The Netherlands weathered an early storm before finding their footing and maintaining their momentum at half-time.

The second half was tight until Llewelyn pulled off another impressive move, allowing Germany to ease off a bit. The 23-year-old picked up a loose ball from a corner and fired it into the net first time, scoring his first goal.

The Netherlands tried to fight back and came close with late strikes from Xavi Simons and Donyell Malen, but 34-year-old debutant Oliver Baumann made two incredible saves to secure a special clean sheet.

Germany held on to the three points, which puts them five points clear of Ronald Koeman's side at the top of Group A3.

Julian Nagelsmann made five changes to the side that beat Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, with Baumann and Llewelyn making their debuts. Even though key figures like Kai Havertz, Jamal Musiala and Marc-André ter Stegen were absent during this international break, the team still managed to get the maximum points.

Given the inexperience on display on Monday, Nagelsmann and the German fans had plenty to celebrate. Llewellyn has been a standout since joining the team. Angelo Stiller and Aleksandar Pavlovic have taken control of the midfield, and there's been an injection of more youth on the bench.
