Chalobah will join the Eagles on a season-long loan, The Athletic reports. The deal does not include an option for the Eagles to buy him outright next summer, though Chelsea will receive an undisclosed loan fee.
The 25-year-old will undergo a medical at Selhurst Park before his temporary switch is announced as the summer transfer window comes to a close on Friday. The Blues had been looking to offload the centre-back, who came through their youth academy, even reportedly going so far as to banish him from the senior team's training facilities after new coach Enzo Maresca deemed him surplus to requirements.
Chalobah remains contracted to Chelsea until 2028 and has made 80 first-team appearances since making his debut in the 2021-22 campaign. He managed to feature in just 13 Premier League games last season, though, as an injury kept him out until February.
Chalobah will complete the formalities to finalise his transfer to the London club and will hope to break into Oliver Glasner's starting XI. Palace are in action on Sunday when they take on Chelsea.
