Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest are among the clubs still interested in Eddie Nketiah after Bournemouth pulled out of the race.
Eddie Nketiah has been at the centre of a busy summer of transfer speculation, but things haven’t gone entirely to plan for him so far.
First, Marseille made a couple of bids for him, but Arsenal turned them down and set an asking price of €30m. The Ligue 1 club decided they’d rather pay a little bit more for Elye Wahi, so they opted against another offer for Nketiah.
After that, Bournemouth sold Dominic Solanke and looked to replace him, with Nketiah strongly linked. But again, Bournemouth ended up moving for a different option, signing Evanilson from FC Porto for over £40m.
Sami Mokbel reported on Thursday that Bournemouth’s move for Evanilson meant they were dropping out of the race for Nketiah, but he added that there’s other Premier League interest in the Arsenal striker.
Sky Sports News then reported that Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest were among the clubs interested in Nketiah, exploring the conditions of a potential deal.
Palace, in particular, were highlighted as being in the market for a forward, with the report adding that Nketiah is looking for regular football.
Nketiah made 37 appearances for Arsenal last season, though just 13 of those were starts.
The striker made appearances throughout pre-season and was in Mikel Arteta’s squad against Wolves on Saturday, but he’s still expected to leave if Arsenal can find a buyer at the right price.
