Kylian Mbappé ended his goal drought with a powerful strike, while Jude Bellingham scored with a header as Real Madrid thrashed Leganés 3-0 on Sunday.
Leganés' defence held strong against Madrid in the first half, but the visitors took the lead three minutes before the break when Vinicius Junior and Mbappé combined, with the latter scoring his seventh league goal this season.
Madrid had the upper hand in the second half and Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde scored from a free kick after Bellingham had been fouled at the 66th minute.
The England international made sure of the win with a header five minutes from the end.
Madrid have a game in hand and are currently second in the standings on 30 points, four behind Barcelona, who drew 2-2 with Celta Vigo on Saturday.
The France international has had a tough time adjusting to life with the LaLiga champions. He went four games without scoring in all competitions, with his last goal coming in a 2-1 win over Celta Vigo last month.
However, the former Paris Saint-Germain striker scored again after teaming up with Vinícius to give Real the lead two minutes before the break. This was thanks to a defensive error by Leganes that Bellingham made the most of.
"We switched the position of the strikers a bit, with Mbappe on the outside and he did well, as did Vinicius on the inside. The team controlled the game very well," said coach Carlo Ancelotti after the match.
Madrid had most of the possession in the second half, so goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who's back in the squad after a muscle injury, didn't have to do much.
On Wednesday, Madrid will be visiting Premier League and Champions League leaders Liverpool. Four days later, they'll be hosting Getafe in the Spanish top flight.
Leganés are currently placed 14th in the standings and are next due to play Alavés on Saturday.
