Match preview
The hosts will be keen to keep their unbeaten status in the Bundesliga, having won their last four top-flight matches.
Bayern didn't create much in the final third against St Pauli, but they managed to restrict their opponents to just three shots, none of which were on target.
The win against St Pauli was the second in a row for Vincent Kompany's team, who've not scored as many goals as usual in the last six games.
Kompany was quick to praise his team's defensive performance, noting their strong play without the ball. "We defended well, which was our strong point today. We didn't play as well going forward as we have been recently.
Since losing 4-1 against Barcelona on 23 October in the Champions League, Bayern have won their next five games without conceding a single goal.
Kompany's side have a great home record. They've won nine and drawn two of their last 11 matches at Allianz Arena, and have scored 20 goals and conceded just three times in their six home games this season.
As for Augsburg, they're just four points away from 16th-placed St Pauli, who currently occupy the relegation play-off spot.
The match against Hoffenheim was a close one, but the Fuggerstadter had more chances to win, with 16 shots compared to Hoffenheim's 11.
Manager Jess Thorup said he was pleased with how his team defended in the match, but he added that they lost control of the game in the second half. "We had a lot of shots on goal and didn't give up much defensively." Unfortunately, we didn't get off to a strong start in the second half, and the other team took control of the game.
In the Bundesliga, Augsburg have scored 13 times but also conceded 20 goals, making them the division's joint fifth worst offensive and fourth worst defensive club.
It's worth mentioning that while Thorup's team is close to the relegation zone, they've managed to stay unbeaten in their last four matches. They've drawn twice and won twice, and have collected eight points from the last 15 on offer, which is the same as they had earned in the previous 13 league games.
The team's performance on the road is a bit of a concern. They've lost seven of their last eight away games in the top flight and only managed to draw once in that span.

Team News
Bayern will have to find ways of defending against opposition attacks without defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha, who won't be back in action until January 2025.
Aleksandar Pavlovic is almost back from a broken collarbone, but if Friday's game is too soon, Kompany might play a double pivot with Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.
The hosts will also be without centre-back Hiroki Ito and right-back Josip Stanisic, as well as goalkeeper Sven Ulreich, so it looks like Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae will be protecting Manuel Neuer's goal.
Meanwhile, Augsburg defender Reece Oxford is still out with long-term effects of covid, while midfielders Tim Breithaupt and Fredrik Jensen aren't scheduled to return until early December.
Nediljko Labrovic is likely to start in goal, with a back three of Chrislain Matsima, Jeffrey Gouweleeuw and Keven Schlotterbeck.
Kristijan Jakic is tipped to play at the base of a midfield three with Frank Onyeka and Arne Maier.
Possible starting lineup
Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
Neuer; Guerreiro, Upamecano, Kim, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Olise, Musiala, Coman; Kane
Augsburg possible starting lineup:
Labrovic; Matsima, Gouweleeuw, Schlotterbeck; Wolf, Onyeka, Jakic, Maier, Giannoulis; Claude-Maurice, Tietz
