Gareth Bale has publicly confirmed his desire to purchase Cardiff City and guide his hometown club back to the Premier League.
The Wales icon is heading a consortium aiming to acquire the League One team and shared his aspirations at the premiere of F1: The Movie.
Having retired from football two years ago following his time with Los Angeles FC, Bale's initial offer was turned down by Cardiff's owner, Vincent Tan.
Nevertheless, Bale remains optimistic about achieving a successful takeover.
He stated on the red carpet: "We are keen on acquiring Cardiff."
"It's my hometown club, where I grew up, and my uncle once played for them."
"Joining an ownership group would be a lifelong dream."
"This club holds a special place in my heart. It's where I was raised, and I'd love to contribute to Cardiff's growth and return it to the Premier League, where it truly belongs."
"I recognize the passion of Welsh and Cardiff fans. It would be incredible to collaborate on this journey."
"We are working to engage with Cardiff, and more updates will follow, but we hope to finalize something soon."
