It's clear that the 40-year-old LeBron James still possesses significant energy and skill, even after the Los Angeles Lakers' disappointing first-round loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2025 NBA Playoffs.

The 21-time All-Star and four-time NBA champion was selected to the All-NBA Second Team after his 22nd season, where he averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists with an outstanding 60.4% true shooting percentage.

Although James is expected to retire from basketball in the coming years, he has openly discussed his thoughts on life after the sport.

A recent report indicates that James' next endeavor after his storied NBA career will likely involve Hollywood, as he has suggested that pursuing a film career is a realistic option when questioned about his future plans.

"It all depends on the creative writing and the role," James told Hollywood Reporter's Tony Maglio on Monday.

"If the role is suitable and I believe I can excel in it, I would definitely consider it."

"I feel like I could portray someone entirely different from LeBron James."

During the interview, Maglio referenced James' role in the 2015 film Trainwreck, which stars Bill Hader and stands out as one of James' most prominent experiences in entertainment. Maglio inquired about James' potential to play characters beyond his own persona.

"In Trainwreck, my character wasn't named LeBron James, but it was essentially a version of myself, acting as Bill Hader's best friend in the film."

"Still, I'd love to explore more opportunities. If scripts come my way and I have the time after my career ends, I'd be open to trying acting and seeing if I can make it work."

While this potential career shift might seem unexpected, James' prior on-screen and voice acting experience could open doors once his NBA days are over.

For now, he remains focused on pursuing a fifth NBA championship with the Lakers and their 26-year-old star, Luka Dončić, as he gears up for his 23rd season in 2025-26.
