After defeating Los Angeles FC in the opening round, Chelsea will aim to pick up another win when they face Flamengo in the Club World Cup on Friday in Philadelphia. The Brazilian side will also be looking to make it two wins in a row after defeating Tunisia's Hope in their opening match.

Flamengo qualified for the 2022 Copa Libertadores by becoming one of four teams to compete in the Club World Cup. The Brazilian team is head coached by former Chelsea left-back Filipe Luis, who has made a remarkable start to his senior managerial career since taking over last September, with a record of 32 wins, 11 draws and three losses in 46 official matches.

In fact, Luis' side currently sits at the top of the Brazilian Football League A with a record of seven wins, three draws and one loss in the first 11 games of the 2025 season. Flamengo has put the title race on hold to focus on its Club World Cup campaign. The team won 2-0 against Tunisian side Esperance Tunis, thanks to goals from Georgean de Arrascaeta and Luis Araujo. The result marked the club's fifth straight win in all competitions, and nine games unbeaten since losing to Cruzeiro on May 4. The Brazilian giants also recorded a fourth straight clean sheet, although they are aware that their sturdy backline will be severely tested on Friday.

Chelsea head into the expanded Club World Cup with confidence after a strong campaign in the 2024-25 campaign, winning a trophy and finishing in the top five. The Blues came from behind to beat Real Betis 4-1 in last month's EFL final. Just days earlier, they secured a spot in next season's Champions League with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest to finish fourth in the Premier League.

Enzo Maresca will now be tasked with guiding Chelsea to a second Club World Cup title after the club won the 2021 edition of the tournament with a 2-1 extra-time win over Palmeiras. Chelsea got off to a flying start in their quest for the 2025 World Cup title, winning comfortably 2-0 against MLS side Los Angeles Football Club on Monday thanks to goals from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez. With the win, the West London club have won nine of their last ten games and showed their defensive prowess by keeping three clean sheets in their previous four games.

If they win their opening game against Flamengo and Desires Tunis fail to pick up three points against Los Angeles Football Club, they will have secured a spot in the last 16 with a game in hand.

Flamengo predicted starting lineup:

Rossi; Barrera, Ortiz, Pereira, Sandro; Pulgar, Jorginho; Gerson, De Alascaeta, Araujo; Enrique

Chelsea predicted starting lineup:

Sanchez; James, Adarabijo, Colwell, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Neto, Palmer, Madouque; Delap
