Chelsea have announced that their new signings, Liam Delap, Mamadou Sarr, and Dário Essugo, are part of their 28-man squad for the Club World Cup, while Raheem Sterling, João Félix, and Axel Disasi are among those left out.
The west London club will face Mexican side Club León in their opening match of the tournament in Atlanta on June 16.
Liam Delap joined Chelsea from Ipswich Town on June 4 and will feature in the Club World Cup rather than Lee Carsley's England U21 European Championship squad. He is joined by fellow newcomers Sarr and Essugo.
Chelsea's squad has seen significant changes in recent years following the takeover by the Todd Boehly-led Clearlake Capital consortium.
Raheem Sterling arrived at Chelsea in 2022 but was loaned to Arsenal last season, as he was no longer needed under head coach Enzo Maresca.
João Félix completed a permanent transfer from Atlético Madrid in 2024, after a six-month loan the previous year, and was subsequently loaned to AC Milan in January.
Axel Disasi has featured in 37 appearances for Chelsea since joining in 2023 and spent the latter part of this season on loan at Aston Villa.
All three players, along with Ben Chilwell, have been excluded from the squad traveling to the United States. Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku, whose future at Chelsea is uncertain, has been included in the 28-player group.
Additionally, Chelsea confirmed that Jadon Sancho has returned to Manchester United, as the option to make his loan permanent was not exercised. Sancho announced his departure from Chelsea via social media last week.
Chelsea's Club World Cup squad:
Goalkeepers: Robert Sánchez, Filip Jorgensen, Mike Penders, Gabriel Slonina
