Romano reports that Liverpool has reached a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz, with the total transfer fee reaching €150 million. Wirtz had already agreed to the move two weeks ago, and the deal is now entering its final stages—medical tests and contract signing are imminent.

Wirtz’s current market value stands at €140 million, making him the seventh most valuable player in the world. If completed, this transfer would shatter Liverpool’s previous record signing (Darwin Núñez, €85 million) and surpass Enzo Fernández’s Premier League record fee (€121 million). Globally, Wirtz’s move would rank as the third-most expensive transfer in history, behind only Neymar (€222 million) and Mbappé (€180 million).

Wirtz, Germany’s rising superstar, has made 197 appearances for Leverkusen, contributing 57 goals and 65 assists. He played a pivotal role in their historic 2023-24 treble (Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and DFL-Supercup), ending Bayern Munich’s 11-year league dominance.
