Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has indicated he might leave the club, as he does not want to spend his career on the bench.
Elliott, 22, signed with Liverpool in 2019 and has made 147 appearances, the majority of which have been as a substitute.
Speaking ahead of England's under-21 European Championship campaign in Slovakia, Elliott said he will explore his options to determine what is best for his career.
"It's a situation that I and the club need to discuss, as I'm now 22 and will turn 23 next season," Elliott said.
"I don't want to waste years of my career, as it's short and unpredictable."
"I need to reflect on whether I'm content with my current role and how I can improve as a player, which is most important."
"I want to become the best version of myself. If that means moving elsewhere, it's a decision I'll have to make."
"Nothing specifically pushes me to leave. I love the club, the fans, and the team, but ultimately, it's about what's best for my career."
