The National Commission on Markets and Competition has opened an investigation against UEFA for restricting competition in the organization of European football competitions.
The opening of the investigation comes after a complaint from A22, the company organizing the European Super League, led by clubs such as Real Madrid.
The body will investigate whether UEFA has violated articles related to free competition in the European Union by reaching an agreement with nine football clubs to prevent them from organizing or participating in European competitions other than its own.
The agreement was signed after UEFA announced that it could exclude teams from its competitions and/or impose various measures on them.
A maximum period of 24 months is now open for the resolution of the investigation.
