Ruben Amorim intends to apologize to Manchester United supporters following a disappointing season that concludes against Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Four days after their final opportunity to salvage the campaign was ended by a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final, the team will express appreciation to their dedicated fans after the final whistle at Old Trafford.

'We will do it; it's a tradition, and we must face it,' Amorim said regarding the customary lap of honour. 'It would be a major mistake not to, so we will proceed.'

When asked what he might say to fans, Amorim added: 'An apology is obvious; there's no time for a detailed explanation. We'll aim to be honest. I'll be straightforward with the fans and share what's in my mind and heart.'
