Real Sociedad's slim hopes of qualifying for European football will be dashed if they fail to beat visiting Girona in La Liga at the Arena Real Alley on Sunday. The hosts were beaten 0-1 by Celta Vigo and are currently in 12th place with 43 points, but with only two games left, they are only five points and four places away from league qualification, while their 13th-placed opponents have 41 points and nothing to play for.

Real Sociedad have not scored in their last four games and have conceded 10 goals in their last six games. The White and Blues are currently five points behind Rayo Vallecano and are out of the league due to face Real Madrid on the final day of the season on May 24. Alguacil's team went into this game without a win in six games, including four losses. Real Sociedad's home form is poor, and in the last seven games at the Real Sociedad Stadium, the club has won one, lost four and drawn two.

Girona beat Real Valladolid 1-0 last round thanks to Cristian Stuani's 80th minute set-piece winner, which puts Girona at the top of the league's set-piece scoring charts with 13 goals. The away team has only scored three goals in the last four games, but they have conceded only two goals in those games, which is commendable. Blankfemmes have won two of their last three games 1-0 and lost one, but they drew one and lost three in the previous four games. Although Girona has two wins and has lost only one of their last four away games, they were winless in their previous six away games, losing five of them.

Real Sociedad's predicted starting lineup:

Remiro; Traore, Elustondo, Zubeldia, Lopez; Zubimendi, Marin; Kubo Takefusa, Mendes, Gomez; Oyarzabal

Girona's predicted starting lineup:

Gazzaniga; Martinez, Juanpe, Lopez, Blind; Romeo, Arthur; Tsygankov, Porto, Asprilla; Ruiz
