Hellas Verona vs Como
Match preview
Verona are almost assured of their top-flight status for another year as they head into round 37 in Serie A; however, they are still casting nervous glances at the chasing pack.
With just five points separating Paolo Zanetti's team from Lecce in 18th place and Empoli in 19th place, the Mastiffs are not yet mathematically safe.
These fears have been exacerbated by their recent run of results, with Zanetti's team securing just four points from a possible 21 since their 1-0 victory against Udinese in mid-March.
This success represents the 15th-placed club's sole victory in 10 matches, a run that could extend to 11 if they lose to their in-form opponents.
Supporters at the Bentegodi Stadium might well expect that outcome, given the club's six-match winless run against Como in Serie A — a run that could become seven if both teams' recent form is taken into account.
Fabregas's team have equalled Lazio's 1972–73 side's record as the only promoted team to win at least six consecutive games in the same season.
While that Lazio team went on to claim eight victories between February and April of that year, Como are aiming to match the Biancocelesti by claiming their seventh consecutive victory.
The promoted team have flourished on their return to the top flight after 21 years away, and could secure a top-half finish if they earn maximum points at the Bentegodi.
The 10th-placed Lariani are four points ahead of 11th-placed Torino with six points left to play for, highlighting their advantage over the Maroons.
Eager to secure a top-10 finish, the Voltiani are favourites to win on Sunday against a Verona side that has won only once in 12 home games.
Having secured a 3-2 victory in the reverse fixture in Lombardy, the Lariani will be confident of completing a double over this weekend's hosts for the first time in Serie A.

Team News
Tomas Suslov and Ondrej Duda are suspended for the home team, while Abdou Harroui is absent due to a long-term knee injury.
Verona will assess Pawel Dawidowicz, Grigoris Kastanos and Cheikh Niasse, though their issues are believed to be minor.
Casper Tengstedt tops the goalscoring charts for the Mastiffs, but the six-goal forward has not scored since 2025 and will be hoping to end his five-month drought this weekend.
Fabregas's team are unlikely to have Alberto Dossena, Assane Diao or Sergi Roberto available due to injury.
Although top scorer Diao (eight goals) is out with a foot injury, the in-form away side can rely on Gabriel Strefezza, who has scored four match-winning goals in his six appearances in Serie A.
