According to Saudi media arriyadiyah, Laporte's current contract expires in the summer of 2026, but Al Nassr FC has decided to reach a financial termination agreement with the player in advance.
The club has initiated the termination procedure and Laporte may transfer to the French Ligue 1 team Marseille. Laporte's playing time has been cut back considerably this season due to the deterioration of his relationship with coach Pioli, and was even excluded from the squad recently and trained alone.
Since joining from Manchester City for €27.5 million in 2023, Laporte has played 69 games for Al Nassr and contributed 9 goals. During this period, he also helped Spain win the 2024 European Cup as a main player. At present, Al Nassr is ranked fourth in the league, and the remaining four rounds need to sprint for the AFC Champions League qualification.
