Newcastle have made Wolves striker Matheus Cunha their top summer transfer target, according to a Daily Mail report.

Boss Eddie Howe is thought to believe Cunha is the right profile of player to take his side to the next level.

Newcastle already have one of the Premier League's most prolific No 9s in Alexander Isak, but the 20-goal man is attracting interest from elsewhere - including Arsenal.

Cunha has scored 13 league goals this term in a struggling Wolves side, and could be tempted with a move by fellow Brazil internationals Bruno Guimares and Joelinton, who are established starters at Newcastle under Howe.
