The Spanish giants will face off against the Gunners on Tuesday evening in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. It will be the first time the two sides have met in a competitive fixture since 2006, when Arsenal knocked Madrid out of the Champions League at the round of 16 stage.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was asked about penalty kicks before the game. In the La Liga last weekend, Kylian Mbappé created a penalty while Vinícius Júnior missed it, which eventually led to Real Madrid's home defeat to Valencia.

This is the second consecutive penalty missed by the Brazilian winger. Vinícius missed an important penalty in the penalty shootout against Atletico Madrid. In addition, Mbappé and Bellingham have also missed penalties this season. Despite this, Bellingham is one of two players to have scored in both the last two penalty shootouts, the other being centre-back Antonio Rüdiger.

“We’ve thought about it and we’ll try to handle it tomorrow,” he noted on who will take penalties, with Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius and Luka Modric all taking spot-kicks this season.

"We missed a few times: Bellingham, Mbappé and Vinicius. I tried to give him confidence but he missed. I don't think it affects him. Whether he plays well or not, he always gives his all."
