The $22 million reason 49ers will trade Brandon Aiyuk today, or not at all

The San Francisco 49ers will either trade Brandon Aiyuk today (March 31, 2025) or not at all.

That's what all the contract implications suggest, along with reporting from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The reason? A $22.85 million bonus in Aiyuk's contract.

That bonus is paid out if Aiyuk is still on the 49ers' roster on April 1.

As Schefter reports, there's no chance San Francisco would pay that huge bonus and then still trade Aiyuk away.

The 49ers have already traded Deebo Samuel this offseason, so another deal seems like an odd choice.
