At present, the case has been classified as "simple homicide with indirect intent". But Burlando said: "Everyone has failed to fulfill their duties as professionals. The direction of the investigation may change during the trial. I have no doubt that what happened to Maradona was a murder."
Speaking about Maradona's experience, Burlando said: "Maradona's death is directly related to the negligence of the current defendants. It is obvious that this was a murder. They could have taken Maradona to any emergency room to save his life."
Burlando concluded: "There must be financial interests behind this matter, some people are trying to profit from Maradona's death. As the trial progresses, we will see whether the court will change the characterization of the case. It is now clear that the current defendants abandoned Maradona, but they tried to blame it on medical errors."
