PSG vs Lille

Match preview

PSG will be keen to keep the games coming after an astonishing run of form that has made them the most in-form side in Europe.

Luis Enrique's men have now won all but one of their last 19 games in all competitions (a 1-1 draw with Reims), scoring a remarkable 61 goals in the process.

On Wednesday night, the French giants recorded their second 7-0 midweek win of February, thrashing Stade Briochin to reach the semi-finals of the Coupe de France.

With Reims, Dunkerque and fourth-placed Cannes the other three teams left in the competition, PSG are now overwhelming favourites to complete a domestic double this season after extending their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to 13 points last weekend.

Having watched Marseille suffer a heavy defeat at Auxerre, Enrique's men took advantage of a 3-2 away win over Lyon to seal the title in early April.

PSG are back on home soil, something that has been unusual in recent weeks, having played just twice at the Parc des Princes in just over a month, beating fellow Champions League hopefuls Brest and Monaco in the process, scoring 11 goals in the process.

They now face France's other representative in the competition in Lille, a side they have dominated in recent years.

The hosts have scored 25 goals in their last seven league meetings with Les Dogues and have lost only once in 28 previous encounters in the capital.

PSG will have one eye on Wednesday's heavyweight clash with Liverpool, but Lille will have a game to worry about 24 hours earlier, with Bruno Genesio's men having just two days to prepare for their trip to Dortmund.

Avoiding Europe's knockout play-offs means Lille have had the whole of February to focus on maintaining their push for the top four, and that extra preparation time has proved crucial, especially after a crucial 2-1 win over Monaco last weekend thanks to Hakon Arnar Haraldsson's first-half double.

After a run of just three wins in 10 games, Genesio has since guided his side to three wins in their last four to move above Monaco into fourth place, just two points off the automatic UCL places.

With Lyon faltering, it now looks as if four out of five teams will finish in the top half of European football, but while Lille are in the driving seat, they now face the biggest challenge in French football.

Team News

Enrique was able to rest most of his strongest XI in midweek, and the second-string side produced the goods in a 7-0 thrashing of Briochin, meaning some could get another chance in the side, especially with the Liverpool game on the horizon.

Goncalo Ramos scored a hat-trick in the cup and could retain his place if Enrique opts to rest Ousmane Dembele for midweek, having started on the bench on Wednesday alongside Bradley Barcola, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Warren Zaire-Emery was the only major injury concern, but he returned as a substitute on Wednesday, while Vitinha and Lee Kang-in were left out of the squad with minor knocks.

Lille were rocked by the news in midweek that Edon Zhegrova had confirmed he wanted to leave the club this summer and would not be signing a new contract.

Along with Jonathan David, Zhegrova has been a key player in Lille's attack this season, but he has missed the last two months with a groin problem and will miss this game and Tuesday's first leg against Dortmund.

Remy Cabella is a doubt with a hamstring problem, while Samuel Umtiti and Tiago Santos are long-term absentees with serious knee injuries.
