A great weekend for Barça as Hansi Flick's got themselves right back into the battle for La Liga with a win at Sevilla following on the draw between top two Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid. The blaugranes' German coach was in a good mood talking after the win in the Sánchez-Pizjuán: "I am really happy with our performance; we played really well and we fought for the three points."
One of the most satisfying things for the Barça was the performance of his team with 10 men. Against Celta earlier in the season it was not easy for the blaugranes with a man down but against Sevilla Flick's team were more than ready despite the red card for Fermín. "It's different playing with 10 men and we did really well. Fermín was disappointed about the sending off but he had scored an important goal. These things happen and it's a good lesson in playing 4-4-1 and defending," explained Flick.
A talking point after the game was Barça's position in the league after picking up three valuable points. Hansi Flick exhibited his usual calm self: "The situation is better than before but for the moment we are just focused on what we are doing. We have to win the game and not think about what the others are doing."
"There is still a long way to go and a lot of games left," said Flick before highlighting the need for his team to extend their good recent form. Rest will be important from now on in and Hansi Flick will give his side a well earned break with their next game against Rayo in the league over a week away.
