Despite having to defend for much of the game against Lens, a patient Toulouse side were given a break in the second half when Les Sang et Or were shown a red card on the hour mark.

Carles Martinez Novell's side made the most of the opportunity, scoring the only goal of the game with less than 20 minutes remaining despite having just 34% of the ball.

It extended their winning run to three games in all competitions, with the Haute-Garonne side having not conceded in their previous two matches..

They head into this weekend's game on a four-game home winning streak in Ligue 1, having won their last three domestic fixtures at the Stadium de Toulouse.

With six wins from their last eight top-flight matches, Toulouse are in contention for a place in Europe, currently just three points behind Nice for a Europa Conference League spot and four behind Lyon and Lille for a Europa League or Champions League qualifying spot.

Victory this weekend would be their longest home winning streak in the top flight since returning to Ligue 1 ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Despite an early setback last Sunday, Strasbourg bounced back to score three unanswered goals and win for the first time this season after conceding the opening goal.

Coach Liam Rosenior has seen his side show more composure and quality in the attacking third of late, with three goals scored in three consecutive games.

Strasbourg go into the game on a four-match unbeaten run in all competitions, conceding just one goal in that time.

They have won their last two games away from the Stade de le Meinau, keeping a clean sheet on both occasions.

This weekend, they have the chance to win three successive top-flight matches for the first time since December 2023 (three).

Le Racing are unbeaten in seven consecutive away matches against Toulouse, with their last defeat as visitors coming in February 2006 (2-1).

Team News

Toulouse could have Rasmus Nicolaisen available on Sunday after he missed last week's game with a sore ankle, while Oliver Zanden is a doubt with a knock.

Niklas Schmidt, meanwhile, will miss the match as he serves the second game of a three-match ban for his red card in last month's 4-2 Coupe de France win over Hauts Lyonnais.

Zakaria Aboukhlal's 73rd-minute spot-kick was enough to see them past Lens last time out, his team-leading sixth in the competition.

Knee injuries could mean Strasbourg are without Moise Sahi and Thomas Delaine, who both missed the Auxerre game.

Yoni Gomis was ruled out last weekend with a sore foot and Tidiane Diallo was ruled out with a knock, although both players could be available on Sunday.

Strasbourg drew level with AJA last week through a Habib Diarra penalty in first-half stoppage time, before Felix Lemarechal and Emanuel Emegha scored in the second 45 minutes to give them maximum points.
