West Ham frontman Niclas Fullkrug was taken off injured just 15 minutes into the Hammers' FA Cup third-round tie against Aston Villa on Friday night.
The Germany international pulled up racing forward from the back as the Hammers launched a counter-attack after a Villa corner.
Before he went to ground, he signalled to the bench, clutching his left hamstring and clearly in pain.
He was subsequently replaced by former Villa striker Danny Ings.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Hammers boss Graham Potter said: "I would imagine it's quite a severe hamstring injury when you pull up like that, so that's a concern for us."
Fullkrug, 31, missed 10 Premier League games between September and December with an Achilles tendon issue.
He has played just 11 times for the club since a summer move from Borussia Dortmund.
