West Ham United officially announced that former Chelsea coach Porter has officially become the new head coach of West Ham United, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract. West Ham United's FA Cup third-round match away to Aston Villa will be his coaching debut with the team.

Porter started his coaching career in 2011 and has coached Ostersund, Swansea and Brighton. He is best known for his experience coaching Chelsea from September 2022 to April 2023.

Porter's time with the Blues was not satisfactory. During this period, his coaching record was 12 wins, 8 draws and 11 losses, with a winning rate of 38.7%. Although he led the team to the quarterfinals of the Champions League, Chelsea's performance in the Premier League was particularly poor. When he dismissed class, Chelsea had only 10 wins, 8 draws and 10 losses in the league that season, accumulating 38 points and ranking 11th in the league.
