Match preview
QPR have proven to be a tough team to beat in recent times, having won five, drawn four and lost one of their last 10 matches.
The only defeat in that period took place on Boxing Day when Marti Cifuentes's side suffered a heavy 3-0 loss in their away meeting with Swansea City.
QPR went on to take a point from their final outing of 2024 against Norwich City, before they kicked off the new year with a 3-1 home win over Watford, courtesy of goals from Michael Frey, Jimmy Dunne and Sam Field.
That result represented a fourth consecutive home victory, which is a considerable feat for a side that failed to win any of their first nine home league games this season.
QPR's impressive home form has helped alleviate their relegation fears, with the R's currently sitting six points above the bottom three in 16th place in the Championship table.
The R's will try to extend that gap in Monday's contest, as they look to complete a league double over Luton after recording a narrow 2-1 victory in August's reverse fixture.
Luton are battling to avoid back-to-back relegations, with the Hatters currently in 20th place and just two points above the drop zone.
Rob Edwards's side will be low on confidence after losing four of their previous five matches, including defeat in each of their last three games.
The Hatters ended 2024 with consecutive away losses against Bristol City and Swansea, before they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat in their New Year's Day clash against Norwich.
Marcelino Nunez scored the decisive goal in the 73rd minute to bring an end to Luton's six-game unbeaten home run.
After suffering their first home defeat since October, the Hatters are now focusing on Monday's trip to Loftus Road, with the visitors looking to end a run of nine consecutive away defeats since beating Milwall in September.
Luton have lost four of their last five away league games against QPR, although they did run out 3-0 winners in their most recent league trip to Loftus Road in December 2022.
Team News
The hosts are still unable to call upon the injured quartet of Steve Cook, Liam Morrison, Zan Celar and Karamoko Dembele.
QPR may also be without midfielder Lucas Andersen, who missed the win over Watford after picking up an injury in the draw with Norwich at the end of December.
However, defender Ronnie Edwards could come into the matchday squad after arriving on loan from Southampton on New Year's Day.
As for the visitors, they are expected to be without Teden Mengi, Reece Burke, Alfie Doughty, Shandon Baptiste and Tom Lockyer.
Jordan Clark will have to be assessed after being forced off in the 12th minute of Wednesday's home defeat to Norwich.
Full-back Joe Johnson and midfielder Liam Walsh are available for the trip to Loftus Road, having completed one-game and four-match bans respectively.
Queens Park Rangers possible starting lineup:
Nardi; Ashby, Dunne, Fox, Paal; Morgan, Varane, Field; Smyth, Chair, Frey
Luton Town possible starting lineup:
Kaminski; Holmes, McGuinness, Bell; Moses, Nelson, Nakamba, Krauss, Chong; Adebayo, Morris
