Fede Valverde revealed Kylian Mbappe must be shown "affection" to reach his maximum while calling the Real Madrid star "one of the best in the world".
Since completing his highly anticipated move to Real Madrid in the summer, Mbappe has faced challenges adapting to his new surroundings. However, the forward appears to be finding his rhythm, as he scored the opening goal and provided an assist during the 4-2 victory over Sevilla, helping Real Madrid climb to second place in La Liga, narrowing the gap to leaders Atletico Madrid to just one point before the winter break.
Mbappe’s goal was a testament to his skill, reaffirming why he is regarded as one of the best in the profession. In an interview with Real Madrid TV, Valverde praised his team-mate’s contribution, stating, “We have always seen him give his best. He works and trains as hard as possible to be at his best. You can make mistakes, and have bad games or bad plays, but the important thing is to stand up and move forward. He is an example and a reference in the dressing room. He is one of the best players in the world and we have to give him affection."
In his debut season at Real Madrid, Mbappe has already scored 14 goals across all competitions. His talent has not gone unnoticed by his team-mates, who have reportedly coined a new nickname for him - "Mbappepinazo." The playful moniker celebrates his remarkable ability to score stunning goals from long range, a skill that has become a hallmark of his playing style.
With Mbappe hitting his stride, the team will look to build on their momentum and continue their pursuit of Atletico Madrid at the top of the La Liga table. They will return to action after the short winter break on January 3, facing Valencia in an away match.
