Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou says the first-half substitution of left-back Destiny Udogie during the 5-0 win at Southampton was "precautionary" easing fears over a fresh injury scare.
Spurs are battling an injury crisis at the moment with 10 first-team players unavailable, and there were concerns Udogie had become the latest issue after being taken off in the 28th minute at St Mary's.
But Postecoglou has played down Udogie's substitution raising hopes the defender will be available for Thursday's crunch Carabaco Cup home quarter-final against Manchester United, live on Holasports.
The Australian said of Udogie at his post-match press conference: “We'll see how he is. He felt a bit tight in his quad.
"To be fair, he wanted to continue but you just can't take any risks at the moment.
"We kind of took him off, the same with Sonny [Heung-Min Son], so hopefully I don't think it's anything significant at this stage. More precautionary.”
